Take the Lead
“Comfort is the enemy of achievement”
•Farrah Gray•
It all begins with an idea. It all begins with a desire. It all begins with YOU.
What is a leader? The initiator of a given task. Someone who is equipped to command a group of individuals towards a common goal. Are you a leader?
The world we live in today seem to be fragile as well as lost. We have endless wars, multiple diseases, untamed anger, false news, hate spreading at exponential levels and families fighting one another over worldly possessions. Most christian-based individuals are awaiting the rapture to clear out all this turmoil and chaos. But what if waiting is detrimental within itself? How do we harness the travesties, clean it up and present real solutions? By starting with self.
Just like you, I have a story too. I was able to take the lead role after I’ve outgrow the victim role. Taking the lead means being able to lead thyself. Create a new vision out of the adversities you’ve endured. Fulfill the empty promises others have given you. Transition from survivor into savior for self. Can you lead yourself through your emotional setbacks, your unforeseen circumstances, and inconveniences? Then you’re pre-qualified for the job! By job, I mean organizing a team of individuals that can fulfill the mission to aide others.
I’ve read a study published by the *American Psychological Association, that states
In contrast to being perceived as a leader, leadership effectiveness refers to a leader’s performance in influencing and guiding the activities of his or her unit toward achievement of its goals suggested that leadership effectiveness should be measured in terms of team, group, or organizational effectiveness.
But how would one identify a leader? That’s easy. Let’s scan over a few traits of an effective leader.
Visionary 👁
Communicator 🗣
Organizational 👥
Dependable 🤝
Lead by example 🫡
Agreeable ✅
Alert 😳
Versatile 🌐
Whatever the objective is, we as leaders pursue the right of passage without fear, excuses and blame. As long as our environment is filed with people, places, and things that add to our higher frequency, it’s hard to lose. It is hard to accomplish much without the right team, without the proper support and clear vision. People usually say “heavy is head that wears the crown” and there isn’t a better way to explain how demanding it is to lead. But if not you, then who?
Are you the leader in your own story?
